Tasting Notes: This Limited Release Pinot Noir is their first foray into Central Otago. The fruit was sourced from the Gibbston Valley sub-region, which is generally cooler, but the long hang time enabled slow maturation on the vine and expressive flavor development. Hand-picked late in the season on the 5th of May 2018. Minimal handling in the winery and matured in French oak barriques for 10 months prior to bottling. A complex and expressive nose showing saddle leather, wild thyme, and barnyard. A wine of striking purity. Lean fruit is balanced with chewy tannins and bright acidity.
