Hibiki Whisky
Hibiki – a prestigious blend originating from Japan, made with impeccable Japanese craftmanship by top Japanese alcohol distiller Suntory. Hibiki Whisky is a harmonious blend of the finest malt and grain whiskies meticulously blended to create a concophany of robust flavours and aromas. Read on to find out more about the top picks of the famous whisky brand.
The Hibiki Japanese Harmony
The Hibiki Japanese Harmony is one of the top picks of regular Hibiki whisky drinkers. The blend of Japanese malt and grain whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushi and Chita is drawn from a total of 5 types of casks such as the American white oak casks, Sherry casks and Mizunara oak casks. The result is an elegant combination of the aroma of honey, orange and light oak from the casks.
The Hibiki Harmony Master’s Select
Suntory’s Hibiki Harmony Master’s Select is a traveller’s special release of the original Hibiki Japanese Harmony blended whisky, similarly named but a different blend altogether. The Hibiki Harmony Master’s Select is a special blend of 10 different Japanese malt and grain whiskies from the same distilleries and casks as the Hibiki Japanese Harmony. However, the use of Sherry casks is more regularly promoted during the advertising of the former. Tasting notes include fruits, vanilla, toasted coconut and woodspice.
The Hibiki 21
Named the world’s best blended whisky at the 2013 World Whiskies Awards, any seasoned whisky drinkers would want to get their hands on a bottle of Hibiki 21. Demand of the Hibiki 21 has increased significantly over the years, but production of this rare bottle hasn’t, which drove prices to rocket. Its tasting notes include cooked fruit, blackberry, ripe banana and caramel, with a smooth, sandalwood and honeycomb palate.
