How does a night of cocktails while watching the English Premier League with the boys sound?
1. Manhattan
The Manhattan is one of the most traditional whiskey cocktails that you can find in most bars, it is an icon in the whiskey world. It is also versatile as you can make it with bourbon or Canadian whisky, a splendid cocktail recipe to make whenever you are trying out a new brand.
You will need:
60ml rye whiskey, bourbon or Canadian whisky
30ml sweet vermouth
2 to 3 dashes of aromatic bitters
Cherries
Directions:
This will only take a minute or two. Fill a mixing glass with ice before pouring the whiskey, vermouth and bitters in. Stir well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish the drink with cherry and serve.

You will need:
30ml lemon juice
30ml simple syrup
60ml club soda
Cherries
Orange slices
Directions:
First, pour the bourbon, lemon juice and syrup into a Collins glass filled with ice and stir well. Fill up the glass with club soda then garnish with a cherry and orange slice before serving.
3. Irish Coffee
Need a little caffeine boost while staying up for late-night soccer games but don’t want a cup of regular Joe? Why not give the Irish Coffee a shot? After all, it’s a pretty easy cocktail to whip up.
You will need:
120ml strong hot black coffee
30ml heavy cream - lightly whipped
2 teaspoons brown sugar
Directions:
Place the brown sugar into a warm mug or heatproof glass then pour in the coffee and Irish whiskey. Stir until the sugar is dissolved then float the whipped heavy cream on the top of the coffee. To ensure that the cream floats, pour it over the coffee slowly against the curved back of a metal spoon. Enjoy this warm drink without stirring or mixing.
4. Whiskey Cobbler
The Whiskey Cobbler is another classic whiskey cocktail that has a famous spin called the Sherry Cobbler that was popularised by a book. This one’s a sour one and packs more of a punch than its wine versions. It is also highly adaptable, so feel free to add your own twist to this recipe.
You will need:
90ml whiskey
15 to 30ml simple syrup
15 to 30ml club soda
Orange slices
Lemon slices
Cherries
Directions:
In a wine glass or old-fashioned glass, simply combine all liquids and pour over ice. Stir well and top with soda if you wish. Garnish with your fruits combined in a skewer or piled on top of the ice.
